The Maastricht Symposium is being organized as of 1999 by 'Comité Koning Willem 1'. Originally it was an initiative of the Maastrichtse Studentenvereniging Tragos, but currently a lot of different study and student organizations are involved with the event. Every year the board of the committee changes and generally has between six and nine members. The committee’s purpose is to bring students, companies and society together to create a soundboard where currently relevant issues can be discussed. It is often also a good opportunity for students to get a good idea at which kind of company they would like to work in the future.
