The Maastricht Symposium is an unique event in which you, as a dedicated, motivated and ambitious student, can participate together with fellow students from nine other dutch universities. During this day you will get the opportunity to meet several commercial and social institutions, listen to keynote speakers and get into contact with experienced hires.
The symposium will ask the question whether a student has become a product for the labor market or still is a person in development. Around this theme a day is organized where students and companies will discuss the changing nature or education. Students will have the chance to participate in workshops of companies and social institions where they will elaborate about talent within their organization. By participating student will not only be able to critically think about the theme, but perhaps also get job or internship opportunities through the contact with these institutions. Additionally, contact with experienced hires will give some additional information about how the job market works, what the opportunities, threats and possibilities are. Finally, some keynote speakers will give their vision about the current trend in education, thereby giving additional insights about the topic.
You are only one step away from participation in The Maastricht Symposium. Based on your CV and a column in which you share your vision on this theme, the best 150 students will be selected. A panel of decorated professors will complete this selection. In the end, half of the participating students is coming from Maastricht and the other half is coming from nine other dutch Universities.
